Employment obligation

The aim of employment obligation is to improve the professional competence of those over 57 years of age and to promote and support access to the open labour market. If you are unable to return to the labour market with the employment obligation, you will have the opportunity to receive unemployment benefit again.

Whom is the service for?

The employment obligation is intended for unemployed jobseekers over the age of 57 in Helsinki whose maximum period of unemployment allowance is about to be completed and who are not entitled to additional days of unemployment allowance. Employment obligation refers to a statutory service that obligates the city to offer work, education, training or rehabilitation to a jobseeker, under certain conditions. Exercising the employment obligation is voluntary for you.
