Health check-up for the unemployed

• The primary channel is to complete an electronic health check-up in the Omaolo service.
• You can also request a referral for a health check from your own specialist at the employment services and then make an appointment for the check directly at your own health centre.

The check-up at the health centre focuses on any concerns you have related to your work ability and functional capacity. The assessment is usually carried out by a nurse.

The health check-up focuses on

• health and wellbeing
• your situation in life and lifestyle.
• job seeking and your work and functional ability that affects it.

If you have a medical condition that requires treatment or if you need a more detailed assessment of your ability to work and function, you will be referred to a doctor. Once the doctor has diagnosed your situation, your need for special services related to the ability to work can be taken into account in the employment services.

• As a result of the Omaolo.fi health check, you will receive an assessment of your health status and instructions for promoting your health. If necessary, you will receive instructions on how to get more help.
• If you were referred to the check-up from the employment services, your health centre will provide you with written feedback on matters affecting your ability to work. Feedback will be used to plan further measures to promote your employment or training.

If you have recently had a health examination and your health has not changed significantly since the examination, tell this to your specialist.
